Dafgårds maskinsäkerhet på menyn Cedoc

Working at Dafgårds should be safe and secure, which is why they place extra focus on machine safety.

Cabbage rolls, meatballs, and Karin’s lasagna. There are many dishes from Dafgårds in Källby, Sweden. Homemade and family-friendly is the feeling that has always characterized the company — and is also reflected in the work environment. Working at Dafgårds should be safe and secure, which is why they place extra focus on machine safety.

A feeling of security

Robert Johansson is responsible for machine safety and is a member of Dafgårds’ work environment group.

“Machine safety is crucial to our ability to create a good work environment where employees feel safe. Ultimately, this contributes to a healthy company. We have chosen JL Safety and Cedoc as our partners in this work.”

The relationship with Dafgårds goes back more than 20 years. JL Safety provides on-site training and consultation, and Dafgårds uses CEDOC to support its risk assessment work.

Food industry requirements for machinery

The food industry differs greatly from other manufacturing industries. The biggest difference is the hygiene requirements, which mean that machines must be designed to be easy to clean. For example, maintenance personnel must be able to safely access all nooks and crannies of the machines.

CEDOC provides a clear categorization of requirements for machines used in the food industry.

Cedoc ensures compliance

National inventories are carried out continuously and regularly with CEDOC support.

“We think it works really well because everything we need is gathered in one tool. The software is structured and provides a good overview with tabs for the different areas we work with. If we just follow the document, we don’t miss anything and know that we are complying with the Machinery Directive on every point. As soon as a new version of the directive is released, the software is updated. We also use CEDOC as a reference work, as the Machinery Directive and explanations of the paragraphs are included in the software itself.”

This is a view that we at Cedoc can confirm, as many of our customers appreciate that CEDOC has a structure and flow that is easy to work with. This allows them to focus on the actual machine safety work and avoid making mistakes simply because it is complicated. They can be confident that they are truly ensuring compliance.

Continuous machine safety work is crucial in order to stay up to date and comply with new standards and directives on the market, says Robert Johansson at Dafgårds.
