How CEDOC Users Are Working with Machine Safety — Customer Success Insights
Our Customer Success Managers talk to users every day in many different roles, industries, and stages of their machine safety work. Despite the variety, there are clear common themes in what users are working on, thinking about, and asking for right now.
Elin Edström and Lisa Kovalenko share their insights from the conversations with Cedoc users.
From Manual Checklists to Structure and Systematic Processes
Many customers want to take a more structured approach to machine safety. Often they come from a background of using their own checklists, manual and unreliable documentation processes, and routines that rely heavily on individuals.
– “A common scenario is that companies enter larger projects or growth phases. Then the manual methods are no longer sufficient – you need structure, traceability, safety, and support in the process. That’s often where Cedoc comes in as a supportive tool,” says Elin.
For many users, CE marking is a central part of daily operations, especially for companies that manufacture machinery, where documentation is a continuous activity.
Machine Regulation as a Driving Force
A clear trend in customer conversations is that more and more companies are looking ahead to the upcoming Machinery Regulation. This often means reviewing older risk assessments and documentation to determine which machines and risk assessments need to be updated to meet the new legal requirements. Users are at different stages — some are well prepared, while others know they need to start but haven’t yet.
Many users express that the transition from the Machinery Directive to the Machinery Regulation is surprisingly smooth within CEDOC, as the software guides and supports the user through the process.
Common Questions and Uncertainty
Common questions tend to include both practical and regulatory topics — such as how detailed a risk assessment needs to be. Many users ask whether every detail needs to be documented, or how much is enough to satisfy legal requirements without making the work unreasonably burdensome. In these cases, Customer Success tries to guide users appropriately — sometimes referring them to external experts when questions fall outside their own expertise.
Machine Safety in Everyday Work
“Confidence” is a word that frequently comes up in customer feedback. Owning their own processes and data, and working within a clear, guided workflow gives users peace of mind. Many users also appreciate:

The Current State of CEDOC Users
Engagement is high and the desire to do things correctly is strong. Many users are exploring, preparing, and finding the right path forward. There’s a sense that the “Machinery Regulation train” is rolling — the question is who has bought their ticket.
Lisa concludes with a reflection:
– “We also see that more and more completely new users are finding their way to Cedoc. This indicates that more companies are beginning to recognize the need for system support in preparation for the machinery regulation and that they want to be prepared well in advance.”
