We are excited to present our latest release – the new guide in CEDOC!
Receive guidance on applying the correct regulations and ensuring a safe working environment with the new guide.
Most individuals who encounter machinery safety in their work rarely have the time or primary responsibility to explore legal requirements and monitor changes. Consequently, it is challenging to determine what can be considered a safe machine according to current legal requirements.
The new guide is the first part of our long-term plan to support and assist users in navigating the area of CE marking of machinery and ensuring that a machine is safe to use.

How the new guide can facilitate your work
The guide provides users with direction on selecting the appropriate documentation based on purpose.
Additionally, the guide offers insights into what can legally be considered a substantial modification of machinery. Substantial modification of machinery means, in practice, that the machine needs to be CE marked again, as if it were entirely new. At first glance, this may seem inconvenient and time-consuming, which is not entirely accurate.
If a machine undergoes a substantial modification, it can be documented in CEDOC efficiently as usual.
Most rebuilds or modifications of machinery are not classified as substantial. However, it is still crucial to document what changes have been made and their assessed impact on safety.
The guide provides direction on this matter and supports users in documenting changes correctly. It also includes guidance on applying the correct regulations for the machinery or related product, whether you are a machine manufacturer or user. For example, there are significant variations in safety requirements for machinery depending on when it was manufactured.
The responsibility for the machinery safety and its documentation varies depending on your role. The guide helps clarify this for users.
